Leisure

What is this life, full of care, when we have no time to stand and stare
I read this poem as a child and was so confused by the theme.
When was the last time you slept for as long as you wanted.
Ate whatever you wanted without thinking of it’s consequences.
Had a conversation in person and you didn’t even realise how quickly time passed.
Learnt something new or read that book that sits on your shelf waiting to be read.
The last time you got wet in the rain without considering the possibility of falling sick.
Took up the course that you wanted and dressed as you wanted to.
Before we get into throwing caution to the wind and any other cliches, let’s take a moment to just stand and stare.
