I don’t think art is in all things beautiful, it grows out of insecurities, despair and even hopelessness.
I recently read that the ‘The Starry Night’ by Vincent Van Gogh wasn’t an abstract place or the view when he was at the pinnacle of success, however it was when he was struggling with his own mental illness. It was the view inspired from his hospital.
Art does not grow from only beautiful things, it grows from circumstances and experiences.
Frida Kahlo represented her freedom through her art, for her it was a cathartic experience, it was getting rid of everything she thought made her lovable, it shows how art is inspired from everyday things and situations around us.
“I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best”
And that reminds us, feel wholly, smile to the fullest, laugh and if you have to cry, then let yourself cry and feel sad, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned but never make decisions in that anger.
This is what makes us human.
