We apologise for a lot of things.
We apologise to people for simply being ourselves, for not fitting in
yet what we hope to achieve is embracing our unapologetic selves.
Have you ever taken a moment to apologise to yourself?
Dear me
I’m sorry
I’m sorry you tried so desperately to fix others when your own hands were shaking. I’m sorry that I didn’t give you enough time to heal cause you wanted to put up a brave face. I’m sorry I let you think that being brave meant dealing with everything alone. I’m sorry that you gave all the time and effort to people who didn’t return it. I’m sorry that you cried yourself to sleep, where each day would be fine, you would get through them then it would hit you at night. I’m sorry you had the need to please everyone. I’m sorry that you had to set so many expectations, when you could let go. I’m sorry you thought you had to be a certain way. I’m sorry you had to keep going on when you needed to stop.
And
I’m sorry, I didn’t love you when you deserved to be loved even more.
Love,
Me
